A Reunion of Hope: The Tale of the Lost Cat and Joyful Return
One late evening, we received a message about a black cat spotted outside town, about 20 minutes away. The person urgently requested our presence to determine if it was Whisper. Not willing to take any chances, we immediately drove to the location, navigating through the dark night. Upon arrival, we encountered a very thin black cat, visibly hungry and frightened. Though disappointed that it wasn’t Whisper, I gently picked up the cat, reassuring him that he was safe now.
I asked the lady at the location if she could keep the cat overnight, but unfortunately, she couldn’t accommodate him. Without hesitation, we decided to bring him home. I posted on Facebook in hopes of finding his owner, and we also checked for a microchip, which he didn’t have. Over the next few days, a man contacted me with pictures of his missing cat, who had been gone for several weeks. The photos were a perfect match.
The man rushed over, filled with disbelief and joy at the prospect of being reunited with his beloved pet. He was overwhelmed with gratitude and even made a donation to our cause. Witnessing the happiness of this reunion was incredibly rewarding, highlighting the impact of our efforts in reuniting lost pets with their owners. It was truly a heartwarming and happy ending to a challenging situation.
A Miracle Reunion: The Heartwarming Journey of Blackey Bear
As you all know, since Whisper went missing, I have become involved in helping to rescue cats with some amazing women. We have been live trapping cats here in Belleville. A few weeks ago, we set some traps at Hansler. We caught one with an injured eye, and unfortunately, he had to be put to sleep. However, we trapped two other cats: one fully black, whom we named Chance, and another white and black one, Paris.
I had Chance with me for the last three weeks. He was very fierce, hissing and biting, but every day, I worked with him, and eventually, he let me pet him and brush him. He is a teddy bear underneath. I sensed that he had an owner before but may have been lost for a long time.
Yesterday, I got another black cat here too, and tonight, for some reason, I felt compelled to look at all the photos on the Lost Cat Network from 2017. I sat down and looked at over 700 photos of lost cats and kept coming back to one specific photo of a black cat who looked so much like Chance. It bothered me a lot that the photo showed a small white scar above the eye, and Chance had that. I went down and looked at Chance again and felt the urge to contact the number.
I had my friend call the number and leave a message there. I took my chance to call. A couple of minutes later, a lady named Miranda texted me back. We took a chance and texted back and forth. She told me it had been 5 years since her cat, Blackey Bear, went missing. I sent her some photos, and we both agreed that the resemblance was so strong and similar.
I offered for her to come by and see the cat. She agreed and came over after 11 pm. After a couple of minutes, she knew it was her lost baby whom she hadn’t seen in 5 years!
Tonight, I witnessed the most beautiful miracle I have ever seen in my life. It was the most beautiful moment, and I was so overjoyed that I took the chance to look, call, and talk to her, and in the end, she took the chance to come here, and Blackey Bear is now reunited with his owner after 5 long years. NEVER LOSE HOPE!
Miranda took Blackey Bear home, and he went under the big chair that he knows from years ago. Isn’t this story beautiful? Everyone out there who has lost a cat, keep your faith strong and don’t give up. Keep checking the Lost Cat Network albums, the lost cats, the found cats.

Two cats abandoned by their mom
A sick mother cat was dropped off here while pregnant. She gave birth to four sick babies, and after a week, she became too ill to continue nursing them. She abandoned the kittens, leaving me to bottle-feed them in hopes of saving their lives.
Two of the kittens were especially sick, but with round-the-clock bottle-feeding and attentive care, they pulled through. Now, they are thriving, healthy, and full of energy. Without the quick response and dedicated bottle-feeding, they would not have survived.
